Das Ende 2001 standardisierte Multimedia Description Interface MPEG-7 hat sich bis jetzt noch wenig durchgesetzt. Ein Überblick über mögliche Anwendungsbereiche von MPEG-7 und existierende Applikationen als Einführung in das Thema wird gegeben und eine prototypische Demoanwendung im Bereich "Content Based Image Retrieval" wird vorgestellt. Erfahrungen aus dieser Entwicklung bei T-Systems in Berlin und ein Ausblick auf weitere Aktivitäten im Themenumfeld MPEG-7 werden das Kolloquium abrunden.
Ingo Wolf received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University Berlin in 2000. His diploma work together with T-Nova (Berkom) was about measurement and optimisation of relevant image parameters for large screen videoconference systems. Main subjects of his studies and during Erasmus exchange at KTH Stockholm were signal processing, communication technology and networks, as well as light technology. Since 2001 he works as a developer at TSN with active participation at DIN/ISO SC29-WG11 (MPEG) especially "MPEG-7" mainly Audio-Subgroup and "MPEG-21" in the MDS Subgroup. He took part in the EC funded projects ISIS and currently participates in DANAE and DAIDALOS.
