WBT-Master: Supporting Recent Teaching, Learning and Knowledge Transfer Paradigms in e-Learning Applications

Zum Vortrag:

Normally, Web Based Training (WBT) systems are systems supporting a so-called "online course" model. Thus, these systems provide remote access to courseware "anytime anywhere" by means of the Internet technology. This approach just reflects the current technological trends and does not take into account recent developments in teaching, learning and knowledge transfer paradigms. The talk offers a new approach which combines conventional and innovative Web based tools to facilitate and speed up flow of knowledge from teachers to learners in a highly personalized on-demand fashion. We also present a novel e-Learning application called WBT-Master which implements a number of new WBT paradigms. Thus, WBT-Master offers a wide range of tools and processes encompassing more than what was traditionally considered simply "Web based Training". Thus, WBT-Master supports sophisticated authoring of basic and composite training objects, synchronous and asynchronous communication, collaboration, knowledge management facilities and user interface solutions. The talk will concentrate on authoring, collaboration and knowledge management facilities of the system.
