In this paper we present a workflow system which is innovative in three
respects: First, we use active databases for the implementation of a workflow 
server. Second, WWW browsers as clients allows platform independent worldwide
access to the workflow management system. Finally, we show how interaction 
between workflow servers for communication between different workflow systems
can be achieved with a simple extension to this architecture.
